Convoy of Hope Contact: Elizabeth Waters of Vision Productions, Inc. 1-888-679-7747 Fort Worth, Texas October 16, 2004 Convoy of Hope is a national organization that travels to cities all across the country giving out free food, medical exams, and information about community programs. We were a part of this 10,000+ person event as the theatre ministry. While people waited in line for their donations, we would perform short skits and musical interpretations that presented the gospel in simple ways, and even 1 in Spanish. At this, we did Supernatural (by DCTalk), Chair of NIS, Al Mundo Dios Amo (by Jackie Valesquez), Cell Phone, Up to Me (by Ross King), and Two Knights. After we were done with the theatre portion, we stayed to help with the event and pass out information about our ministry.
Thanksgiving Outreach at Care Center Ministries Contact: Ester Gomez 214-824-9852 Dallas, Texas November 27, 2004 Care Center Ministries does a Thanksgiving outreach every year, and this year, they asked us to get involved. While the homeless and those in need worked their way through counseling tents, a free meal, and giveaways, we presented several short skits and musical interpretations. At this event, we did the Na-Na-Na Song (by Mark Lowrey), Al Mundo Dios Amo (by Jackie Valesquez), When I Survery/Arise My Love (by Stephen Camp/Newsong), Two Knights, Give Thanks Always, and Chair of NIS.
Friday Night Live at Texas Women's University Denton, Texas May 6,2005 Contact: Maryann Montoya Friday Night Live is a Christian organization at TWU that provides games and other entertainment to students as an alternative to drinking. We peformed Chair of NIS, Can't Stop Talking, It is Well, Faithful, Up to Me, and Two Knights while students ate spaghetti and garlic bread. After the show (and the short interruption by the fire alarm), we stayed for a while to play games and visit with students. It was a lot of fun and we hope to return again. Pictures from this event are not available.
Holy Hip Hop Convertication Paul Quinn College, Dallas Texas June 25, 2005 Contact: Carolyn Robinson 214-929-2561 We auditioned and were accepted to be a part of the Holy Hip Hop Convertication 2005. This is an event featuring local rap, gospel, dance, and step artists. To say we felt slightly out of place would be an understatement. But the Holy Hip Hop crowd and staff made us feel right at home. After many attempts by Satan to stop the show entirely, we were finally able to perform The Gift. It was the best prodcution of this play that we did all summer. The audience ohhed and booed, clapped and cheered as characters made their choices, and God recieved all the glory. We are already planning to return to next year's Holy HIp Hop.
